The curriculum is designed to build a comprehensive skill set, combining front office expertise in insurance billing, coding, and electronic health records with the clinical knowledge of a pharmacy technician.

Upon completion, Amara covers the registration fees for four nationally recognized Allied Healthcare Professional certifications:

To become an Allied Healthcare Professional, you need a high school diploma or equivalent and formal training through an institution such as Amara. After completing a recognized program, the next step is to pass your certification exams, including the CMAACEHRSCPhT and CBCS exams.

In the Allied Healthcare Professional program, you will learn skills like:

The total duration of Amara’s Medical Front Office Administration Specialist program is 33 weeks if completing 15-20 hours of coursework per week.

Amara’s certification programs are fully online and designed for remote learning, allowing students to progress at their own pace. The instructional design incorporates interactive elements, simulations and expert instruction. 

Required courses for the Allied Healthcare Professional program include Medical Office Procedures and Administration, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Electronic Health Records, Microsoft Office Word and Excel, Pharmacy Technician and Insurance Billing and Coding Essentials.

Amara includes exam fees and preparation materials in the program cost. The courses are designed to prepare students to take and pass the CMAA, CEHRS, CPhT and CBCS exams. Additionally, Amara students are provided access to a Student Success Advisor team, Subject Matter Experts and Career Coaches to assist with exam prep.

There are no clinical requirements for the Allied Healthcare Professional program.

We’re not institutionally accredited as a training provider, but the certifications you’ll earn in this program are accredited through the exam-issuing authority, the National Healthcareer Association. So while our school itself doesn’t hold accreditation, you’ll earn an accredited certification upon passing your national exam.
