In the phlebotomy portion of the program, you will learn techniques for collecting blood and other specimens used to diagnose illness, evaluate medication effectiveness, and assess overall patient health. Our interactive eLearning courses feature simulations and 3D animations, offering a realistic, hands-on approach to clinical skills training in a fully online environment.
The EKG portion of the program prepares you to perform diagnostic tests that help detect heart irregularities, including the application of Holter monitors and assisting cardiologists with stress testing.
Certification Requirements
To sit for the Certified EKG Technician (CET) exam, you must complete 10 live EKGs.
To sit for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam, you must complete 30 venipunctures and 10 capillary sticks on live patients.
These requirements must be completed within 90 days of passing the exams. Certifications are awarded once both the exam(s) and clinical requirements are met.
Students are responsible for securing a clinical site to complete these requirements, and employment in a healthcare setting is strongly recommended.
