What You’ll Learn – HI 9700 Clinical Medical Professional (Medical Assistant + Phlebotomy Tech + EKG Tech)

The Amara online Clinical Medical Professional program prepares students to earn industry-recognized certifications and pursue careers as Medical Assistants in hospitals, clinics, physician offices, and other healthcare facilities.

This program includes two specialized courses designed to equip students with the knowledge and hands-on skills to perform blood draws, collect and process blood and non-blood specimens as a phlebotomist, and administer EKGs and other diagnostic tests as an electrocardiographer—all while maintaining a safe clinical environment.

In addition, students will develop essential front office skills such as scheduling, verifying patient and insurance information, and managing administrative workflows through the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) course—making them a well-rounded asset in any healthcare setting.

Upon completion of this comprehensive 36-week program, graduates will be prepared to sit for up to four certification exams. While the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and Certified EKG Technician (CET) exams are not required to obtain the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or CMAA certifications, students have the option to pursue these additional credentials to further enhance their career opportunities. Students are responsible for securing their clinical sites to complete the CPT and CET requirements.

We strongly encourage students to review job postings from local employers and research state-specific requirements, restrictions, or licensing barriers prior to enrollment to ensure eligibility upon graduation.

Note: Some Amara programs may be restricted in certain states or regions. Please review our State Restrictions page to confirm eligibility based on your state or residence of employment.
